Woods Retreat

The existing site had a 1960's chalet sitting within a protected woodland setting. The plan was to replace the existing chalet with a modern new house fit for modern living. 

 

The new design was informed by the site constraints and the clients brief, which is modest enough however, the two storey design appears as imposing yet set back into the woodland.

 

Due to the sensitive location of the site, it was important that we designed a house which has traditional rural form, with contemporary detailing to create a very definite statement.
